Centreville Baptist Church was founded on August 28th, 1852 and continues in downtown Centreville today.

Our Building

Our building's sanctuary was completed in 1853, the bell tower was added in 1872, and the chapel/balcony was constructed in 1887. The sanctuary was restored to its original configuration in 1986. Centreville Baptist church’s building has over a century and a half of history and character that make it one of the unique landmarks in our town. Its high ceilings contrasted with its narrow stairways show the priorities of the times when it was built, as well as the size of the people 170 years ago! But as you walk through the rooms with their lofty ceilings and down the narrow stairs, it provides a rare opportunity to carry on a Christian tradition that spans from a time when the blight of slavery still marked our country to today.
